The Taliban has reportedly arrested a high cleric who had referred to as on the nation to withstand the militant group’s insurgency — sharing a photograph of him blindfolded.
Maulvi Mohammad Sardar Zadran, the previous head of the Nationwide Council of Spiritual Students of Afghanistan, was photographed trying forlorn as he sat on the bottom along with his arms clasped collectively and a strip of brown materials overlaying his eyes.
The clip was launched by the Taliban as proof that it had arrested the outspoken cleric, in accordance with the Pajhwok Afghan Information company.
His son Samiullah advised RFE/RL that his father was compelled from his dwelling in Khost and pushed away by Taliban fighters on Sunday. There was no quick phrase on the place he was being held or if he was secure.
The reported show of him blindfolded and arrested once more contradicts the Taliban’s declare that it wished peace and was providing an amnesty to anybody who had resisted or labored towards the group previously.
